iSchool Dreams: My Valentine was the first of the High School Dreams series which I did not help to design. At the time of development, I was working as the lead designer on Dragons’ Den, but I returned to the High School Dreams team to write the script for this game.
Building on my previous work in the series, I adapted the dialogue from the PC game, adding a new opening to the game and reworking the dialogue to incorporate the design changes that had been made.
A large part of my role was ensuring that the dialogue for each of the iOS games in the series was unique, which meant creating new content for scenes which were shared in the original PC game. To ensure that iSchool Dreams: My Valentine duplicated almost none of the dialogue from the First Semester game, this game featured a significant amount of new scratch-written dialogue compared with the earlier game in the series.
